My Pet's Story
It had been just under two years since our two dogs had passed after having them for 16 and 17 years. We were ready for another furry bundle of love in our lives. It was a Saturday afternoon and we stopped into a local shelter. It was there that we found Butters. We asked if we could play with him a bit in the yard and he came out and literally ran over to my husband and hugged him. It was love at first site. We were told by the shelter that he had been surrendered to the Dade County pound and that he was scheduled to be euthanized the day after Christmas. Thankfully he was rescued by a local Pekinese shelter, who ended up transferring him up to Broward County and the rest is history. Even though we have only had him four months, we can't imagine our lives without him in it. I can only encourage everyone I know to help these amazing animals that are in need of good homes and to show them that there is good humans out there. Thank you to all the shelters out there that help these poor little souls. I will continue to promote all the local shelters to my friends and family so that they can find their "Butters".
