Heathcliff, a mature seagull, recognizable because of his missing lower left leg and foot, was rescued as a fledgling by former residents of my home some 16 years ago. He has been a local “resident” neighbourhood personality. I have had the honour and joy of witnessing him and his mate hatch and raise their young on the roof opposite my home. Here he is sharing his “catch of the day” with one of his young chicks.
After 6 years of daily visits, sadly Heathcliff disappeared on April 15th of this year. I submit this photo in honour and memory of him.
