Rexton Valor ("Rex") is a retired explosives detection German Shepherd dog who served with the U.S. Army on two tours in Afghanistan and three tours in Iraq before retiring to Old Town Alexandria in 2013 . Twelve-year-old Rex is a gentle, affectionate and protective boy at heart who will do anything for a raw carrot and adores his toys, especially tennis balls and stuffed sharks.
