Veil is a 6 year old Arabian mare. This darling girl has had a rough life!

She was starved TWICE before coming to us at Crosswinds in December of 2011 as a 3 year old. She is a darling petite girl who has learned that humans are wonderful beings who enjoy scratching, petting and feeding her carrots.

Winter of 2013 Veil unexpectedly came down with a sinus infection - which in horses can be life threatening. The initial medications didn't resolve it; the first trip to Purdue for surgical drainage got some progress but didn't cure her; the second medications haven't either; on 2/20/14 Veil returned to Purdue for more aggressive surgical drainage including, literally, breaking a section of bone out inside her nose to force proper drainage. The total costs for these weeks of care was $1576.28. PLEASE DONATE to help us replace these critical operating funds for future care. Without this treatment, she would have had to be euthanized.
