This is Mama goat. She fell ill last July and we never thought she would walk again. She is 8+ years old and got her when we moved into our house a year and a half ago. The house was put on the market advertising that the goats would come with the home... We longed of a little homestead. The sweet military family couldn't stay until closing and the goats had to return to their former farm. After moving in, we had the privilege of getting the same goats back to their home. Along came "Mama" goat and her two kids. We have spent every day enjoying our goats, and the day she was found on her side will never be forgotten. The vet said she is a lucky goat as most people would have given up on a goat so old. She was unable to move her back legs, we thought it could have been trauma or a disease we were not ready to face. I had gotten her to the vet asap. We nursed her day in and day out, slinging her back legs and giving her baths. We never gave up. Now almost a year later mama goat is running and thriving with the heard. And smiling as big as she can.
