Matilda is one of our very special Alabama mommas that we rescued in 2015. She came into our program with 7 puppies and shared parenting duties with Alabama Momma Thelma and both litters became the "11 Boys & 2 Girls of Summer" . She was skin and bones when she came in-- and sadly it was discovered she was fighting Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Like her puppies, she is the SWEETEST dog but with 3 with terrible hips and needing surgery, we knew Matilda was also at risk and recent x-rays have confirmed that she also needs the $1200 FHO surgery to help prevent terrible arthritis later in life.
