Why is your dog a hero?
Not only does Franklin provide everyone he meets an endless amount of joy and laughter, but also, he has such a strong sense of care and protection for his loved ones. While his dad is out on 24, 48 hour or even longer shifts, Franklin has learned to become quite the gaurd dog for his mom at home, by alerting her when someone is at the door or when passing by someone who might pose a danger. His tiny size has never stopped him from making sure his family is safe! Besides physical protection, Franklin also has a strong sense of emotional care. Franklin can sense when someone is feeling down, and he will immediately stop what he is doing (including eating his favorite treat) to come over and lay his head in your lap or bring you a toy to cheer you up.

Often times, people equate a hero with someone who sacrafices in a massive way. But Franklin has demonstrated that even the tiniest source of joy can truly impact someone for the rest of their life.
