Both of our fur kids were once strays. Charlie found his way to us first fourteen years ago. He was just over 1 year old. He would wonder down our driveway and disappear. It took us two weeks to discover he was taking shelter behind the hedges in our front yard each night to sleep. Once we discovered his resting place he instantly became one of the family. Very smart and gentle natured. Sadly we lost Charlie to cancer of the lymph nodes last year.

Miss Pinter came to us one year after Charlie. She was not more than six or seven weeks old. Small enough to fit in the pum of my hand. Someone had abandon her in the woods next to our house. It was her loud cries that saved her life. She bonded with Charlie instantly. He never snapped at her or chased her, but wherever he was she was right next to him. She would wait by the door for him to return from his morning and evening walks. These two taught me a lot about unconditional love.
