10 years ago, I visited the Humane Society on a whim and this sweet girl was in the very first kennel. I FaceTimed my parents to ask if I could bring her home. My mom was hesitant. We'd never owned a dog before. So the next day, I took my mom with me to the Humane Society to meet her. But when we got there, she wasn't in the kennel! I was heartbroken. A volunteer came over and told us another person was visiting with her but we should wait in case he didn't want her. After waiting for what felt like forever, the volunteer came around the corner holding her in her arms. She looked so small and scared. We sat with her in the visiting kennels, coaxing her with treats as she cowered under the bench. After doing this for quite some time, she finally let me hold her and almost instantly, she fell asleep in my arms. In that moment, we knew she'd found her forever home. This sweet girl has changed our lives in the most extraordinary way possible and we're forever grateful for the day we met the dog formerly known as #33A.
