Your Pet's Rescue Story
We got Loki through a Central Florida rescue last September which we had previously adopted from. Our high energy Aussie mix, Jax, needed a friend to play with. I specifically told my fiance I did not want a puppy. We had just purchased our home and we had enough on our plates. We didn't need another pet, but when I saw Loki for the first time I knew he had to be mine. Both my fiance and I had been wanting a Husky. The rescue named him Grey Wind from Game of Thrones. He was truly a stunning specimen. We arranged to meet him and took our other dogs along to make sure they approved. In person he was markedly different from the pictures I had seen online. He was even more beautiful but he was also malnourished and full of worms. He weighed only 35 pounds, about 20 less than he does now at his ideal weight. He was the friendliest dog though and extremely happy to be showered with attention. As we say, he loves to be loved, and he is extremely loved by all who know him. Once we got Loki home, we began treating him for his parasites and making sure he got plenty of food to eat. He had some food aggression in the beginning but that was easily remedied once he realized we would not deprive him of food. I may not have wanted a puppy, but I certainly got one in Loki. We named him Loki because it means "The God of Mischief" in Norse. He is a "forever puppy", always playful, curious and alternating between play and sleep. Loki definitely came in our lives at the perfect time and we're so happy to have him in our fur family.
