Your Pet's Rescue Story
Ollie was left overnight tied up to the Lake County Animal Shelter fence. The shelter contacted Tampa Bay Beagle Rescue and asked if they had someone to foster this "senior, deaf beagle". TBBR posted him on their Facebook page and we knew we wanted him right away. When we went to pick him up from the shelter the girl at the front desk told us that he never stops barking and "good luck". When he saw us he produced a huge smile and it was like he knew, we would be his furever home. He was filthy and cover in dirt and his ears were clogged. We gave him a bath and took him to the vet the next day. He had a serious case of kennel cough but he definitely was not deaf. His ears were just so clogged that he couldn't hear. They estimated his age to be around 7 years old, but he had so much energy and spunk that we think he might be a little younger than that. And the barking? We weren't even sure he knew how to bark because he never barked once he came home with us. He is the sweetest and most gentle dog we've ever had. He loves cuddles and going for long walks. Most recently he has become a big brother (we just had a son) and he has taken to the role of watching over his little brother.
