Ginger chose us to be her forever family when we saw her at the Ottawa Humane Society in February 2016. Someone paid a breeder full price for this beautiful purebred chocolate lab and then 2 weeks later decided it was too much work for them. Luckily, they did the right thing and took her to the OHS to people who would care for her until she found her forever family. My husband and oldest daughter spotted her - just 12 weeks old with GIANT paws and a tiny 12 week old body. Raising her IS a lot of work, like with any puppy but worth every bit of it. She's like a therapy dog for our family - greeting us like rock stars after we've been gone even for an hour, providing total unconditional love and she's always ready to listen or keep you company. My 9 year old just announced this morning "Mommy, I can't imagine my life without Ginger". And my youngest daughter is like a littermate for Ginger - they're being trained together :) Yes, she barks when people come to the door, she's a bit timid and she's grown into a HUGE 72 pound girl ... but we wouldn't trade her for the world. Thank you Ginger for coming into our family!
