Cocoa Bean and Mocha belong to Mountshannon School Age Program, a child care centre for children aged 4 - 12. The children adore our guinea pigs, and are very proud of them. They bring a lot of joy to the children. They are calming for them and a comfort when the children are sad or feeling down. The children have learned a lot from Mocha and Cocoa Bean about caring for pets.
They understand that they need to be calm around them, and that their cage needs to be clean and their water bottles full. Mocha came to us from a child in the program who was no longer able to keep her at home. This child loves having her at the program, and is really proud of being the one that brought Mocha to us. When new children start the program, they are nervous, and Mocha and Cocoa Bean are a great distraction, and help make the new children feel at home. Mocha and Cocoa Bean are both female, and are the best of friends.
