Ring-necked dove Meadow with a year’s worth of her unfertilized babies! It was always so difficult to throw her beautiful eggs in the trash, so I saved them up over a year and carefully dyed them. It was so sweet how she accepted them along with the fresh eggs she was brooding, and I took the dyed ones away after a couple photos so as not to confuse her. I’ve never known another creature more loyal and devoted to me (when not happily brooding eggs). Meadow passed away in May and I miss her dearly.
