Dogs can be heroes just by being there when we need them. Some dogs, however, do more than simply “be there”. In the case of Marron her presence inspired a movement that brought real change to a community in Peru. She is the reason Amazon Community Animal Rescue, Education & Safety (Amazon CARES) exists. I rescued her in 2004, brought her to the US in 2012, and had to say goodbye to her in 2016. As the first Amazon CARES rescue, the Peruvian employees simply named her "Brown." If Marron wins this contest all winnings will be donated to www.amazoncares.org. Vote for her, and vote for thousands of dogs she helped to rescue. Thank you for reading her story.
