How does this photo represent the theme – Life is Better Together?
We adopted Leila at 12 weeks old, when our other beagle, Sammy was 13 years old. We thought Sammy needed a companion, someone to bring some liveliness back into her old life. They became so attached so quickly, and even though Leila was a bit of a handful for Sam, we got another two amazing years out of Sammy before her time was up. Leila certainly brought new life back into Sam, encouraging her to play. Leila even took on the backwards role of "protector", though she was so much younger, as demonstrated in this photo. When we had to put Sam down, Leila was devastated for weeks, until we brought home 7 week old beagle Dexter. She was unsure of him at first but now they are best buds. I do think there are still times when Leila misses Sammy, though, just as we do.
