Pet's Story
Miss Jessel was a Bloomington shelter cat that someone adopted and then (apparently) drove over to our neighborhood and let loose. She cried terribly at my neighbor's house until they let her in. They came to me with her because they had a brand new baby in the house. Soon as I held the purring little girl I knew I had to find her owner, who could let this darling go? She was 13 months when we found her. We advertised, nothing. I took her to the vet--she had a chip! Owners were contacted, "do you want your cat?" "NO!" Was the response. I adopted her immediately. Her name is Miss Jessel because the female ghost in "The Turn of the Screw" goes by that name, and when Miss J is out at night she looks like a ghost!!
