PittieLove Rescue Inc. is an all-volunteer, foster-home-based rescue dedicated to the care, understanding, and adoption of the American Pit Bull Terrier. As one of the most abused and misunderstood "breeds" of all time, PittieLove's number one goal is for our rescued dogs to never suffer from neglect or abuse again, carefully placing them into loving homes where they will be ambassadors for the breed.
Working closely with MA shelters, MA animal control facilities and fellow rescue organizations, we help as many dogs in need as we have foster homes for. Before the dogs come into our rescue, they undergo a thorough temperament evaluation. If they pass, they are then placed into loving foster homes where they are provided with quality veterinary care, initial training and lots of socialization (with both people and animals of all ages). Our dogs are up to date on their vaccinations (age appropriate), spayed/neutered and micro-chipped prior to adoption.
All of our volunteers are experienced Pit Bull owners and are always happy to work with adopters/potential adopters with any questions or concerns they may have. Potential adopters are educated about Pit Bull type dogs and are given comprehensive information about the specific dog they are interested in.
We cannot accept dogs into our program that show aggression towards other dogs, however, we do recognize the "breed's" potential of developing this trait as he/she matures. Therefore, we prefer to place our rescued dogs as only pets or with a compatible dog of the opposite sex. *Please note the difference between dog/animal aggression and human aggression. Human aggression is NOT a normal trait of pit bull type dogs and should not be tolerated.

Just as much as we are here to rescue, we are here to educate and work to change the immediate image and stereotypes people have of these severely misunderstood dogs.
