Someone once said to me, “Even if you get a pit bull someday, who’s going to listen? Who’s going to care?” But that didn’t stop me. I now own a pit bull. His name is Chester Cheeto. He’s smart, he's resilient, he’s loyal, he’s protective, he’s sweet, and he’s goofy beyond belief. He wears PJs, costumes, and party hats. He loves to swim, go to daycare, curl up in blankets, and go for walks. He excelled at obedience and agility. He is my shadow, a velcro dog. He just wants to love, despite his not-so-great past. I bring him to public events, get him into dog sports, and share his story - all to shed positive light on him and on his 'breed.' Not everyone will listen and certainly not everyone will care, but if I can change just one person’s mind about this dog then I’ve been successful.
