Burt rescued his person seven years ago when he was living with Forgotten Friends Rescue. Despite his tough exterior, Burt appreciates the finer things in life, such as many pillows set out for him to lay on, many treats, and having the back scratcher used on him. He lost an eye to glaucoma, but has been overheard telling the ladies at the dog park it was a knife fight at a seedy roadhouse.
Burt is less cuddly than his mom wishes, and very independent, but he does enjoy his dog stroller, his very manly purse, and his hiking pouch. Burt has an obsession for cats and brisket, and really doesn't care whether he's a good boy. The perfect companion dog, Burt always keeps an eye on his mom and loves all people and other animals.
Because of his personality, when you spend time with him, you start to think of Burt as huge. He's turned his mama, who used to be a big dog person only, into a Shih Tzu freak. Heaven help us.
