Pet's Story/Bio
We found Turk (formerly Bear), an Anatolian Shepherd, at the Bastrop Animal Shelter. He looked nervous and afraid in the midst of the din of barking and howling surely wondering how he'd ended up in this place. We had a meet and greet where he bowled Bobby over after being led out of the pound. We have been working on Turk's fears, which seems to be with men, something happened to make him fearful, after eight months he is slowly coming around very joyfully. They told us that he had had one owner (who got him as a puppy) and for reasons unknown to us, brought him to the pound. When we reached home and turned the engine off he became very frightened, thinking of course he was being brought to the pound again. He'd never been in a car but the one time it seems. He had sores all over his head that have since healed completely. He is sweet, extremely loving with everyone he meets. He gets so exited because he had never been on a leash or walked, now he loves his walks! through the woods. He has all brothers and sisters here, all rescues. He is on a farm, lives indoors now with his big bed and toys. He is the love of our lives and he adores horses. He'd never seen a horse before now and loves to just stand with them while they sniff and him , he wags his tail gently as if in love . He is our gentle giant, weighing in at a cool 80lbs Turk brings joy to everyone he meets. We are eternally grateful to have Turk in our lives.
