When I first brought her home, she was terrified of her own shadow. She avoided all contact, and only ate enough to survive. But, her capacity to love and learn to trust is the most beautiful thing I have ever witnessed. She's a true hero for showing me that a better life a awaits those who do not define their present by their past. It is a lesson we all need to remember when life gets rough. She deserves to win for being such an inspiration.
