Mayah was adopted 01/09/2009 from Aiken County SPCA after being picked up as a stray.

One night shortly after her adoption Mayah was restless refusing to lay down or sleep. She continuously paced, jumping on and off my bed. Finally around 1am we went outside to see if she needed to potty, instead she pulled me to the woods behind 2 neighboring apartment buildings....I was astonished to discover the woods on fire!! The fire was 10 - 20 feet from the apartment buildings! We woke apartment dwellers and called the fire department before returning home. Once home Mayah went right to sleep. Two apartment buildings housing 16 families would've been destroyed if Mayah hadn't been persistent. She KNEW something was wrong.

She was so brave that night, however when it comes to occassional smoke created when cooking she runs and hides under my bed! I love my darling girl Mayah!!
