Why I am a Ravishing Rescue?
On December 23, 2022, on the Eve of Christmas Eve, while working in a neighborhood 3 hours from home, a sickly 8 week old abandoned stray kitten followed me to my car. I picked up the kitten and it was just skin and bones with swollen eyes, sneezing, coughing, shaking her head and throwing up. I took her in my car and went directly to the emergency vet. She was sick with multiple infections and malnourished. For the next 5 days I continued to take the kitten that I now named Eve Noel to the emergency vet. Slowly Eve Noel got better but there was still something wrong with her, now 10 weeks old and only 2 lbs, I again took Eve Noel to the vet once again and was told she was dying and needed a blood transfusion. The odds for survival was not on her side. But Eve Noel was a fighter and wanted to live. She made it through the blood transfusion but then her abdomen began to fill up with fluid. A sample of the fluid was sent to Cornel to check for Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). Sadly, the results were positive but luckily because I had put her journey on social media, I was informed that there was a cure. So for 85 days I and a few others administered 85 injections in order to save her life. It was not an easy treatment but worth it in the end because she is cured, healthy, happy and loved. Eve Noel is a stray no more!
