Why I am a Ravishing Rescue?
Hello, I’m Chimo. I was rescued from a life on the street by the Richmond Animal Protection Society in the summer of 2015. When I was first taken in by R.A.P.S. I was very scared and acted aggressively towards humans. Every time that a human walked past my cage I reached out from under the door and tried to scratch them! Fortunately R.A.P.S. has an entire section of volunteers who’s job is exclusively to comfort cats like me and teach us that humans are not always bad. A woman named Marianne started spending a lot of time with me in my cage and gradually I learned that petting feels really nice and if you don’t scratch the hand that’s doing it, you tend to get more pets. Eventually I was released from my cage at the cat sanctuary to live more freely with the 450 other residents there. I am a very social boy who’s always trying to make friends with other cats. I think that I tried too enthusiastically to make friends at first and I often ended up getting clawed by the other residents. I was so sad that I tried to dig a hole under the fence and escape. But then one day I met another orange boy like me who wanted a friend too and a e became inseparable. PawPaw passed away in 2019 after spending a year deeply bonded with me. In 2021 a very nice girl started to come and visit me every week. She would give me lots of pets and brush me and clean my litter box. Then one day she brought me home with her. I had finally found a family of my own. Today I live a good life, filled with love, affection, and most importantly my favourite food, chicken!
