Why I am a Ravishing Rescue?
My Life: A Love Story
My original family lavished me with love befitting a purebred Ocicat for the first 16 years of my life. When the last member of my original family passed away, I was taken to the Rescue organization. My portrait and statistics were posted on the Rescue web site. Although I was still undeniably handsome, I admit to a bit of concern that no one would want such an elderly gentleman.
Then a retired librarian searched online for a senior, neutered, male cat, and my picture popped up. Enthralled by my beauty, it’s like she fell in love. She began the adoption process immediately, and we met in person a short time later. She was so gentle and respectful of my status as she picked me up, I instinctively lay back in her arms, and our eyes met. I had never felt such comfort in my life, and we both knew that this was more than love at first sight. It was a deep, intense spiritual bond. We were soulmates, meant for each other. We were even the same senior age: she was 82, and in cat years, so was I. We had three lovely years together. When I wanted attention I tapped her with my paw. Sometimes I had to insist, using my paw to turn her face toward me. If I wanted kisses, I used both paws to guide her face toward my bowed head and she kissed my forehead for as long as I wished. The best part was every night I got to sleep snuggled against her, with my head beneath her chin and my arm across her neck. She told me that I had cured her insomnia.
In this suffusion of love, we spent golden days and three glorious years flew by. I crossed the Rainbow Bridge one week before my 19th birthday. What a fortunate fate to have found each other and to have shared this purrfect mutual love.
