Axel started his life with a teenage kid you went off to college and was dumped at his 70 year old grandparents house. A large rambunctious puppy proved too much for an elderly couple and they took him to GBHS. While there, he developed an upper respiratory infection and was HW+. He was scooped up by THE angel, Heather Wyatt. When I saw his picture from his freedom ride, I knew he belonged with us. I contacted her immediately and we ended our beach vacation a day early to come get him! We don't really know everything he has endured, but we do know he was shot with a BB gun and was scared of his own shadow. He was so nervous he would wear himself out pacing in circles and licking the floor. He couldn't stand to be left alone. But now he is more than thriving! He no longer paces and is content to be left free to roam the house all day alone. He is confident and knows WE belong to HIM! He is one happy, loyal dog and we couldn't be more happy to have him as part of our family!
