Most people are happy to hear about my dog until I tell them he's a border collie. I can always pinpoint that shift in their expression while they call to mind that familiar neurotic stereotype and try to decide what's worth saying about it. "So how crazy is he?" is a popular one.

Aed is a border collie, through and through. He is the smartest dog I've ever met, and, yes, the craziest. He notices everything, loves everyone, and puts a smile on the face of anyone that lets him wiggle his way up to their feet. He is gentle, patient, and observant, and when he's able to meet someone without insisting he lick their face, I hope to see him become a fantastic therapy dog. So try not to judge him before you've ever met him. This neurotic furball is one of the kindest dogs I know.
