1 FUR 1 Foundation is an innovative nonprofit on mission to help animals and heal people in need of alternative treatment plan. We've designed our animal-assisted programs to positively impact those most at risk of losing their assistance benefits; children and seniors with disabilities. 1 FUR 1 works with 37 animals (28 canines, 2 mini horses and 15 cats) every month to provide services in three states (California, Illinois and Michigan). The specially trained animals are able to bring healing to over 3,000 people from all walks of life, at every step on the journey to wellness. Although all of our animal-assisted therapy and activity services are free-of-charge, we don't receive government funding.
