Your Pet's Rescue Story
Blaze came into Desert Harbor Doberman Rescue, June 2012 as a dog that was a failure to thrive. He was 63 lbs and skinny with sores and scars on his nose. The story goes he was left to die in the backyard of an abandoned house with no food or water and his snout bailing wired closed. I am the one who picked him up and brought him to the rescues vet partner. He was just a baby of 11 months to a year old. He had no house manners and was so starved. I fed him 3x a day by hand just so he would slow down, and absorbe the food he was getting. He was adopted by a really nice family and was with them for almost 11 months, their situation changed and he came back to DHDR. Which is when I got him back and couldn't let him go again. He is now a very happy 95lbs two year old that loves my boys. He is such a goofball that one would never know he almost wasn't. He has such a BIG bark and loves almost everyone. Not without some silly little issues, such as cats and chickens are great to chase, Blaze is my foster failure and my buddy that will never ever have to worry about not having a home and humans to love him.
