Your Pet's Rescue Story
Howie was dropped off at a kill shelter and had given up on life. He was rescued so he could have a peaceful end. Howie bounced back. He had advanced kidney failure and was not given long to live. Howie also had arthritis in his hind legs that made walking difficult. A lot of people pitched in to help Howie and he had fun days. But Howie got worse. I volunteered to help and started taking him for walks. My husband and I took him on long rides. But in late September it became harder for him. We took Howie out to our house and he went to the swimming pool and stood with his front paws in the water and looked around. He was happy. On October 8th he came out to the house and spent time taking a long nap out by the pool. Howie was at the end of his life and ready to go. He had had the best 10 months of his life. I remember Howie every day and I am reminded that no matter how bleak their life may be there are people who care and will do anything to make it worth living.
