Pet's Story or Bio
Hi, my name is Reece, affectionately called Reecie. I was adopted from the Oglethorpe Street Center in DC on July 7, 2018. I must admit that I wasn't all that thrilled with my new mom and brother and they felt the same about me. I remember the last thing one of the volunteers said as I left with my new family: "Please be patient with her." I used to be really skittish at the slightest sound and had severe separation anxiety. With the help of the good vets at PG Animal Hospital and the love and patience of my family, I have now graduated to moderate separation anxiety. I hate to be left alone; but I'm learning that I'm a big girl now and have to be left alone sometimes so my family can go out and support us. When they leave me, it gives us all an opportunity to express our love for each other even more when they return. They realize that whatever happened to me in my previous life affects my behavior today. They explain to me that they'll always come back home; and I always greet them at the door, stand and give them a big hug. They say I'm the most lovable dog in the world; and they can't picture life without me! All I can say is ditto!
