Pet's Story or Bio
Four years ago my wife sent me a reward poster for someone who had shot the eye out of a feral kitten. Ralph was a feral kitten born in North East Washington DC, and was shot by a BB gun in his left eye at 2 months old resulting in his eye being removed. The HRA came to the rescue, nurturing him back to health, where we adopted him. His original name was Ranger, but after learning of his backstory, we decided to name him Ralphie (Ralph for short) like the holiday movie classic, A Christmas Story. Ralph underwent three eye surgeries in his first six months making him very skittish. With each year we have had Ralph he has continued to demonstrate his gratitude and trust to my wife and me, touching noses to greet us hello, hanging out by our fireplace, and sleeping on our legs at night. We are forever grateful to the HRA for giving us the opportunity to adopt Ralph into our family.
