Mr. Patches is a RSR that joined my family in April after having 2 wonderful foster families who I still update with his progress. He was posted as a hospice puppy because he was born with an inoperable heart defect and a secondary valve obstructing the blood flow. At his 6 month check-up, the UMN vet said his valve obstruction had improved, extending his life expectancy from an initial prognosis of 1 year at best, to now potentially living 3-5 years!! Even with a bad heart, he has all the energy of a puppy, but unfortunately he cannot run and play like he wants, so always trying to find creative ways to keep his brain busy. This is a picture of his first day on the job. My employer allows him to come with me to work so he doesn't have to spend whatever time he does have alone.
