We are a small rescue organization based out of Mechanicsville, MD. Our mission is to rescue and rehabilitate sick, injured, abused, neglected, and abandoned dogs and then find them stable, loving homes.
For the last 6 years, our rescue has focused on rescuing shelter animals in Georgia because the need in the southern region is so overwhelming. The animals we rescue are immediately taken to see a local vet where they receive vaccinations, heartworm and tic bourne disease tests, spay / neuter, and any other treatment they require for illnesses or injuries they may have. We solely rely on donations from the community to help with these expenses and the cost of daily care and maintenance for the rescued animals. To keep costs down, we do not have an actual facility; thereby alleviating overhead costs. We rely on fosters and boarding facilities to care for the animals we rescue until they have received the care they need and we have found them a home. We are fortunate enough to have a dedicated group of volunteer drivers for transport, but many times we need to use paid transport and the cost is per animal and the expense can be significant at times.
While we wish we could save them all, we have to accept that is unrealistic. But, with hundreds of animals placed since opening in 2015, we remind ourselves daily …
