How to Enter
To enter the contest please click on the Participate tab above.
The contest will be from October 15, 2021 at 6:00am through December 11, 2021 at 10pm. Entries can be submitted at any time during this period.
It is $15 to submit an entry. You can submit as many entries as you like but the cost will be $15 for each one. Each photo is an individual entry and will receive its’ own votes.
The contest is open to rescued pets of all species. No entries of pets purchased from breeders or pet stores are allowed.
The entry must be submitted by the pet’s owner or the entrant must have the owner’s permission.
Any photo or caption deemed inappropriate will be eliminated. If your photo is grainy or low quality, you will be contacted about entering a different photo.
Once a photo has been uploaded, it becomes the property of SMAR and can be used for printing and marketing purposes.
Should you experience any problems getting your photo approved, please contact Terri at SMAR at smar46@aol.com and put Photo Contest as the caption.
Photo Requirements
All photos must
- Contain pet(s) only; no people.
- Be in Color
- Have the pet’s name, owner’s name, city, state and a brief note about the pet.
- Be uploaded online; no hard copies accepted.
- Be in landscape (horizontal form)
- Be in JPEG or PNG format.
- Have no special effects or editing of the photo except to enhance it.
- Should be of highest resolution, best quality, at least 11”x8”and 300 dpi minimum.
- Cannot have a copyright or be professional photo.
Reserve a Calendar Day
You can also remember or honor your pet by reserving a special day block on the calendar for only $15. Since the squares are so small the photos for the reserved calendar day block should have only one pet and not be too close up because we want your furbaby to shine.
Voting
Voting begins Friday, October 15, 2021 at 6:00am.
To vote click on the Participate tab above.
Votes are $1 each with a minimum of 5 votes ($5). There is no limit to the number of votes you can cast.
Votes can all be applied to one entry or several entries.
Votes can be used all at once, or stored in your vote bank for easy voting later.
All votes must be submitted by December 10, 2021 at 10:00pm to be counted.
Entrants are welcome to vote on their own photo.
Online voting on entries begin as soon as a photo is registered and ends at December 10, 2021, 10:00pm.
All votes must be applied to selected photos by the conclusion of the voting period to be counted.
All donations to the contest are final.
Contest Winners
Prizes will be awarded to winners as designated on our Prizes page.
ALL entries will be included in our 2022 “Pandemic Pals” Calendar either on a collage page or as insets within the calendar.
Contest winners will be notified by email.
All proceeds from the Calendar Contest and Calendar Sales will support So MD Animal Rescue’s rescued shelter animals.
