Bogey (aka: Beau) came into the A & B Rescue system as a known KILLER!... (it is alleged that he killed a bird, cat & pet rat!......)But he was recued by the diligent volunteers @ A & E! He was transported in May '15 to PA and settled into a life in suburban Lancaster County...BUT the "Killer" reputation followed him. Also his enthusiastic nature when meeting new folks or encountering different adventures caused concerns (that is putting it in VERY gentle terms!). Consequently, Obedience School was a MUST & Doggie Camp for socialization skills was encouraged. We have glimpsed a NEW BOGEY! He is listening for commands, realizes that the HUMAN is in charge Not the canine, and has shown a much gentler side for beasts of all kinds. He can now sit and watch birds, squirrels and cats as they mosey past his boundaries. He still yearns to chase those pesky chipmunks and is finding the rules of tolerance a bit OVER THE TOP for him for those critters!
Good Citizenship is the goal and a calmer, quieter, more centered Bogey is a BIG STEP in the right direction. We are SO HAPPY to have him in our home and want to offer a BIG THANK YOU to all the volunteers involved in his placement this past Spring! .........X0x0x0... HUGS & KISSES from Bogey!
