My Pet's Story
Danni came to live with us in 2015 after spending several years at APR. How she was overlooked for so long will forever remain a mystery to us. The loss for so many was such a gain for our family. Danni was a sweet, smart and loving companion. (Not to mention a good sport when we dressed her up for the holidays!) All she ever wanted was a good snack and a warm bed/patch of grass to nap on. As with any new family member, we had to learn about each other at the beginning. When she first came home with us Danni was terrified of walks but with time (and hot dogs) she slowly learned to love her time outdoors and would eventually run to the door when you picked up her leash. She also learned to love her feline brother and sister and even helped us to raise a new kitten. Nothing brightened your day better than Danni catching a case of the Zoomies in the backyard! We knew when we adopted Danni that she was an older dog and we could potentially only have a limited amount of time with her, but she spent almost 5 incredible years with us, becoming an integral part of our lives and our family memories. She is now waiting for us at the Rainbow Bridge after a hard fought battle with cancer. We owe a world of gratitude to APR for the care that was provided to our girl, Dan Dan, while she waited for us to arrive and for our story together to begin.
