My Pet's Story
We adopted Reese from APR in October 2021 after the last of our 3 beloved family pets crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Having two small children, temperament was the most important factor and we knew almost immediately that sweet Reese, aptly named by the shelter, would be the perfect fit. The process of adoption was particularly tricky because the volunteers told us Reese was deaf and not potty trained. But armed with a lifetime of growing up with pets, we felt we could provide the guidance and love she needed. After a few weeks of patient training, finding the right food, and lots of love, we discovered she probably just had selective hearing from living on the streets. She has quickly become the family favorite, despite the breath, and we can’t imagine life without her.
