Sara was the very first of our International Rescue Setters to arrive in the USA. She started out as a street dog in Serbia - hungry, pregnant, and desperate for love and affection. Some kind people took her in and brought her to a "pension" to keep her safe, but they wanted a better life for her. She and her traveling companion Peggy landed in the USA in November of 2016. Since Sara & Peggy started the trend, 6 other Serbian setters (Sara's pups) and 14 Greek setters have started wonderful lives here. Sara has been through a lot - she arrived in the US with heartworms and fought through a sudden fever of 107 degrees! Despite the challenges, she is the sweetest and most loving, affectionate cuddle-bug you will ever meet. She loves to chase the squirrels up the tree and feel the breeze blowing through her fur...then she wants to curl up in your lap on the couch. Sara is the PERFECT cover model :-)
