Share your setter’s story and why he/she should be our next Cover Star!
Juni started out in rescue as one of our saddest cases. She came to us emaciated, terrified, unsocialized and heartworm positive. She also had something wrong with one of her eyes. After an extensive vet workup, we found out that one of the heartworms had migrated into her eye!! We wanted to have it surgically removed and save her eye, but her heartworms were so severe that she had a huge clump of them in her pulmonary artery and the cardiologist was afraid that putting her under anesthesia for surgery would risk her life. As a result, poor Juni had to live with the pain of the heartworm in her eye until her treatment was complete. Sadly, by that time, it was too late to save her eye. Fortunately, Juni was blessed with an amazing foster family that showered her with love and patience and took the time to help her heal both physically and emotionally. Once she was healed, her foster family waited to find the perfect family for Juni... and they did!! Juni now has a beautiful setter brother named Zoomer who she loves and a family that adores her beyond measure. While she had a tough start to life, Juni is now living the dream. This is truly the meaning of rescue!
