Charlie came into our lives on November 1st, 2011. He was one year old. We are forever grateful to our A and B buddy, Anne, as well as Charlie's foster mom, Sharon.
Charlie was found in June of 2011 roaming in a park in Alabama along with his 3 sisters and brothers, all abandoned. They were taken to a shelter where he remained for 3 months. When his time was up, someone from the shelter contacted Above and Beyond English Setter rescue. They snatched up Charlie and his two remaining sisters. Unbelievably lucky for us, Charlie was sent to Maryland to a foster home. We had almost given up our search for a dog with our new friend and Buddy, Anne. She called me one evening and said "I think we have one for you, Lori!" Scott and I went on the website for a peek and our hearts melted. Charlie came home to us later that week.
To say that Charlie is a blessing is an understatement. I lost my mother the following year, and we became empty nesters with both daughters out of the house . Charlie is absolutely the sweetest, smartest, goofiest and most loving dog we have ever had.
Charlie now fills his days with taking us for morning and afternoon walks, snoozing in the sun in his window seat, keeping the mail lady and UPS man out of our house, keeping watch over the goldfish in our pond and cuddling whenever possible.
