This is Carson. He flew out from Kentucky 4 years ago yet it seems he has always been here. His beginnings are a mystery but this is what I can tell you. He was starving at some point in his early life. His teeth are lined with the mark of malnutrition. He must have kept himself alive by learning to forage because he has tested every thing in my yard that appears edible. Thank goodness he survived that and we both learned valuable lessons. He leaves the mushrooms alone and I clean the hazelnuts up. He eats hazelnuts like sunflower seeds. To anyone who has not rescued, I urge you to take the plunge. He has taught me more about dogs and love and myself than any other. The love of a rescue is different. They know what life was like before and love you that much more for being their furever home.
