Summit came to the United States from Greece, where he was given the name Spithas, meaning “spark” in Greek, and he is most certainly a spark of light! While Greece is a beautiful country, life there isn’t great for many dogs, and like many others, Spithas was homeless. That was until one day, when some super nice volunteers with Above and Beyond English Setter Rescue came and brought Spithas and several of his friends back to America with them. He didn’t know the rules of living inside the house and had some learning to do. His rescuer even found him sitting so nicely up on the kitchen counter once! But before long, he learned how to behave inside and has been a complete joy ever since, making friends everywhere he goes. Spithas, now Summit, is living his best life in Colorado, with his humans that take him on all sorts of adventures in the Rocky Mountains. He has already “summited” two “14ers”, or mountain peaks above 14,000 feet. This photo was on one of those trips. When not climbing mountains, Summit can be found chasing his football, playing with his favorite chicken, or sleeping on his back with one arm straight up in the air.
