Pet's Story or Bio
Wesley was born blind and deaf to a breeder in Alabama who took him to his vet to be put down. The Vet contacted Gale Sittigg with Alabama Rescue Relay, who fostered Wesley until she found AGPR online. She and her husband, and their dog Cricket drove 15 hours from Alabama to Varina to drop Wesley off. Gale said Wesley was on her lap the entire time. My wife Wendy met Wesley while volunteering at AGPR, and it was love at first sight!
Wesley now lives with us out in western Hanover County, where he gets to walk the trails in the woods, play in the creeks and pond, and meet the Boy Scouts that occasionally camp here. He helps educate them about the abilities of those with special needs, and understand they can be wonderful friends.
Wesley loves truck rides, going to Tractor Supply, and McDonalds french fries. He is very gregarious and loves to play and tussle. He has a mind of his own, and when he wants to follow a scent, or just stop and lay down, he will.
He has added so much to our lives and is in no way a burden. The best way to describe him is that he is "nothing but love".
