Pet's Story or Bio
Our Wesley was born blind and deaf to an irresponsible breeder in Alabama who took him to his Vet to be put down. The Vet, who is connected to Alabama Rescue Relay, rescued him and placed Wesley into the loving hands of volunteer Gale Settig. Gale wanted Wesley to live farther North and was determined to find someone who had experience with special needs Pyrenees. Through her research, she found Victoria Marshman at Appalachian Great Pyrenees Rescue. Gale, with fluff-ball Wesley on her lap, and her husband drove 15 hours to hand deliver Wesley. Ron and I fell in love at-first-sight and Wesley now resides in Western Hanover County, Virginia.
Living in the country, Wesley walks the wooded trails, plays in the water and lays down in the grass whenever he decides that we have walked enough. He is gregarious, stubborn, loving and smart and a constant ambassador educating us all of the abilities held by those with special needs.
Wesley has so enriched our lives. He is best described as a “ bundle of love”.
