A little about me...
We adopted Winnie from JAR when she was 6 months old. She is a joy! She just turned 1 yesterday and here is a little poem I wrote about her:

A year ago today, she came to be—
A feral litter of five, born quietly.
Six months in shadows, rough and wrong,
Found in cold November, in a place they couldn’t belong.

Once sheltered, they grew strong, with softness in their eyes,
Each one ready for a new sunrise.
And one by one, her siblings each found a home
But poor Winnie, for some reason, sadly remained alone.

“She doesn’t show well,” they gently said—
“But, her heart is pure gold, with grace instead.”
Then, just after Christmas, we were lucky to find.
This lovely girl, both gentle and kind.

With springy paws and comet speed,
She dashes ‘round with kitten need.
Then melts into a velvet curl—
Our snugglebug, our softest pearl.

She’s hooked on Churu, which makes her zoom
A blur of fur across the room.
Then perched at the window, she’ll quietly stay,
Watching squirrels and jays, like a hunter at play.

We thank the lucky stars, that she came our way,
A quiet spark who chose to stay.
So here’s to years of joy to be—
Dear Winnie, you were meant for me!
