A little about me...Gabby had a rough start in life!
Being feral At just 2 weeks old, she was ran over by a state mower on an exit ramp off I-57 in Kankakee, Il.
The state employee quickly realized he has ran over something and stopped the mower, climbed off his equipment and went back to see what it was. When he approached it, he then realized it was a very young kitten!
Being friends with his mowing partner that was on the opposite side of the ramp, he called her and she drove over to his side and she then called me to see if I could find her a home. Well, that plan was short lived once I took a look at her! Her name was quickly decided when I realized just how feral she was and wasn't used to humans nor being handled by them!
She was Very "Gabby!"
She was completely unscathed by the mower, not a scratch or nic!
Now, she resides a year later with our 2 other rescue cats, and the 100lb black lab mix that I worked with in my externship for my dog training certification. His name is Oreo and he has adopted her as his own fur baby!
A friend of mine captured this unique picture of her in my beauty shop hair dryer.
Although there is a saying about "bottle-fed Cali babies,"and how temperamental they can be,,, she is very loving and gives me lots of neck hugs and snuggles!
