A little about me...We came across Avery after visiting another shelter dog, who we determined wasn't a good fit for our family. Avery was in a kennel with several of her litter mates, who were stepping on her and battering her with their tails as they were trying to be seen and chosen. She had her nose pressed into the corner of the kennel, and was shivering and cowering. I told my son, let's take her to the visitation room and show her some love for a few minutes. I had ZERO intention of adopting a puppy, especially one so pathetic looking. Of course, we fell in love immediately. After some intense meds to overcome parvo and settling into her new home, Avery became an integral part of our family. She's got some definite quirks -- she will not allow certain people watch her eat and has a distinct way to greet each of us -- what a character! Avery quickly blossomed into a loving, joyful, energetic, cuddly spirit. Her one blue eye gets her a lot of attention when we take her out, then her sweet nature wins over everyone's heart. Avery is perfectly content to spend the day outside on a hike or staying in and burrowing under the covers. Love this girl!!
