A little about me...In this photo, Liam is in his happy place - the back yard. He's a complete mutt. DNA analysis indicates that he has over a dozen breeds in his genetic past--mostly Siberian Husky (25%) and Dachshund (22%) with a sprinkling of Mini Pin, American Staffordshire Terrier, German Shepherd, White Swiss Mountain Dog, and Chihuahua for good measure. His personality is definitely Husky. My wife and I receive a good talking to if we don't comply with Liam's demands (mostly "I want to go in the yard, and I want you to come with me.") His Dachshund side shows up on walks, which usually take several hours as he has to sniff and inspect everything. We adopted Liam and his brother Archie (tuxedo cat) in 2021. The two are typical siblings. They play-fight, eat each other's food, chase each other, and snuggle up together on the couch for TV time. Liam can't fetch to save his soul....absolutely no interest. You'll notice I didn't mention retriever in his DNA results. What he does have an interest in is people. He insists on greeting everyone on our walks, and will lie down and wait if someone is walking by. He is everyone's friend except the mail carrier and Amazon delivery person, but I think he's mostly irked they don't stop and pet him. He sees his job as keeping our yard safe from squirrels, rabbits, and unauthorized cats. He makes an exception for Archie. Our family wouldn't be complete without him.
